Completed October 2006

The top is made from black spandex. I got a bit creative and hand-sewed on black opalescent sequins to make it less plain.

The harem pants are made out of Casa satin and are overlaid with sheer Casa organza in the same lemony yellow color. Elastic is sewn into the waistband and the hem.

The waist scarves were made out of various sheer fabrics, most of which I found at Hancock’s. The pink scarf features hand-beaded trim that was stringed by hand.

The turban is made out of two yards of Casa crepe, and was hand painted with watercolors to achieve the effect it has. It took several hours to achieve this look, and I had to water-down the paints a lot and blend them. The turban wraps around and ties in the back, and the topknot is stuffed and strung with feathers. There are hand-beaded strands throughout with feather dangles at the end.

The necklace was made out of white satin with hand stitched lace detailing. There was also hand-beading done to decorate it. The blue pendant is made out of Model Magic and painted with blue metallic paint. I put holes around the circumference and beaded the pendant, as well.

The boots were modified; I painted the soles a darker blue, made the sheer cuffs, and changed out the laces.

The giant paint brush is made out of a wooden dowel and wooden accessories that were painted – I also attached rhinestones for an added touch, and used feathers for the brush portion.

The armbands were made of stretch fabric and were hand beaded – the striped one also has feathers attached to it.

The wig was purchased as-is.
Personal Thoughts:
I made this costume for Amano's World because I didn't have enough time or the funds at the time to make my Amano Rydia, so the next best thing was to make a Relm costume! It was such an honor to be able to meet one of my favorite artists - I adore his works, especially Vampire Hunter D.
