About this Costume

The uniform is the official ACOS one. My dream is to own the COSPA uniform, but I have my doubts about that happening in the next lifetime. It's accurate, and I'm pleased with it, but I do wish the Gekkoukan emblem patch and the lapel were a little better, like the COSPA ones. I would have made it myself, but the zipper pulls are very unique, featuring the Gekkoukan logo, and it isn't something that can be easily replicated.
The wig is an Arda lulu. I bought the official ACOS wig and didn't like it. A lot of thinning, cutting, and styling went into it.
The boots are gentle souls, most accurate ones I've found for under $100. They are RUGGED!
I made his watch face myself, and then bought a watch band based on painstakingly acquired references. I truly wanted to miss no detail and overlook nothing in this cosplay.
The headphones are the ATH-700, the actual ones Minato uses and the ones the designs were based off of. They're very hard to come by due to being Japan-exclusive and highly saught after by fans.
The mp3 player is the official one by movic, though I replaced the lanyard with one that I actually made for it because I was frustrated at it being too inaccurate to the design.
I have the official Evoker, but it doesn't meet my standards for quality, nor is it con-approved, so I'm waiting to find a better replica or means of creating one so I can make the holster out of the leather I purcased.
Some point very soon, I would like to either make or purchase a black leather school bag and engrave or emboss the Gekkoukan logo into it, as per canon.
His summer and winter outfits also feature a lot of painstaking detail that I worked hard to achieve.
The makeup I use is pretty standard bishounen dorito face makeup. With Makoto especially, I feel a lot more pressure to hide the roundness of my face. His demeanor works well for more of a tired look. Possibly my favorite part of cosplaying him is that I /technically/ don't have to put makeup on half of my face!
While I probably should, I have a hard time putting contacts in for this cosplay, because I'm so proud to naturally have his eye color! - Personal Thoughts:
- This cosplay has probably cost close to $700 by now. Good god. Will I ever be satisfied? It adds up in ways you never realize! But, for a lot of reasons, this cosplay is extremely important to me, and one I continue to work on refining as best I can.
