About this Costume
- Construction Details:

Armor pieces: Made using black worbla. The pieces had wooden accents added with 2-part epoxy and then they were all primed and painted. Rust was added using ferrous powder and a mixture of vinegar, hydrogen peroxide and salt.
Gloves/pants/boots: Bought
Feather Mantle: Made entirely by hand. Base was a Styrofoam shell that was carved to the appropriate shape and then covered with knit fabric. Another piece of woven fabric was attached and to this, over 1000 black rooster feathers were hand-glued on. Attaches with snaps to the tunic.
Tunic: Made from a very strange distressed suede that was on clearance. Trim with bias tape and closes with 8 hook-and-eyes in the front. It had to be modified on the arm holes and sides in order to fit correctly from the Simplicity pattern. The first time ChuuChuu added the torn edge on the bottom, she accidentally made it too short. After about 30 minutes of intense cursing, she decided to sew in an additional layer underneath and add more burnt edges. It actually created an awesome effect! Yay for mistakes that go right!
Scarf: Weird fabric choice yet again. This is actually made from the WRONG side of an upholstery fabric that had JUST the right shade of gray we were looking for. ChuuChuu cut out four extremely long rectangles, attached them together to make 2 REALLY long rectangles and then attached them (WRONG sides together) and flipped it inside out to make the scarf. The edges were burned just like the tunic.
Belt: Made from piecing together long strips of fabric. In order to keep it in place on the tunic, large snaps were added.
Panther Lily: Made by hand! This was such a cute project. CoinOp did most of the sewing on the plush itself while Chuu worked on his little shoes and pants! - Personal Thoughts:
- Our first huge challenge for CoinOp's cosplay library! We worked so hard on this together, but the entire process was so much!
Wig Details
- How was the wig colored?

- Styling Notes
- This is a Suzi lace-front from Arda Wigs with a Jareth sewn into it for extra body and volume. Heavily styled in the front.
