Construction Details:

Closet cosplay at its finest, though I had to pick up the forehead mirror at a pop up Halloween shop en route to Nintendo World the day of the debut, and the lab coat is from my Durarara!! Shinra costume, so...yay recycling?

Personal Thoughts:

This is the most meta costume I've ever done. Allow me to explain:

- My name is Mario. (Which you probably already knew going into this, hahah.)

- I was born in April 1985 (debuted the costume on Halloween 2015 during the Super Mario Bros. 30th Anniversary, LOL).

and the coup de gras:

- My late father was a medical doctor.

YUP. THIS IS ALL REAL. AND THIS REALLY HAPPENED IN THE YEAR OF OUR MIYAMOTO 2015. (Though to be honest, I was already preparing to do this at MAGFest 2016 anyway, but it was too good to pass up when the opportunity arose.)

This is why I still love cosplay, hahah. Fun but still poignant stuff like this. ;D
