Construction Details:

The bow is made out of wood with sculpted clay thorns. Once everything had set, I painted it brown, and then added parts of a silk pink rose from the craft store.I sculpted the gems for the bow along with Madoka's soul gem, and cast them in resin and glued them into the bow. The arrow is one piece of wood, beveled and sanded until I got the shapes I wanted. It was then coated in clear coat first, before spray painting it pink and then hand-painting the highlights and lowlights with acrylic.

Personal Thoughts:

My wife cosplays Madoka, and I made her bow and arrow prop. The bow had a really interesting design which was fun to make. I especially enjoyed crafting the arrow; since it is supposed to be made out of "energy" and doesn't have a set shape, I was able to get creative with how I brought it to life.
