Construction Details:

It wasn’t until later in October did they release an official Fionna costume, so I had to figure out a way to get a hold of the backpack and the hat. I didn’t want the realistic backpack that my Finn got since it didn’t quite have the same volume that I thought was pretty significant of the costume. I bought a few sheets of green felt, white thread, and white felt to make the backpack and hat. The hat was difficult to make since the only pattern on the internet was for Finn’s hat, and the proportions/shape of it was a bit boxy. The shirt and skirt were bought at a thrift store and altered to be the same length on the sleeves and hem. Socks were from American Apparel and the wig was bought off of Amazon and cut to my needs.

Personal Thoughts:

I’m a huge Adventure Time fan. (Then again, who isn’t?? :P) Just as SDCC’12 was coming around the corner, I had decided at the last minute to make a Fionna and Cake costume and get my friend (now boyfriend) to dress as Finn. We were doing this remotely so the colors aren’t 100% coordinated, but I think a lot of people understood the idea. :)
