About this Costume

Cinderella's main bodice fabric was some kind of heavy taffeta that was cut from a wedding dress and train that my neighbor gave me since she didn't want it. The bodice was sewn with a pattern I used for Anna's coronation gown while being slightly altered to make room for the sleeves then was overlaid with a crinkled organza and trimmed all around with ribbon, lace, sequins and rhinestones. The sleeve base is made of satin and are overlaid with Chantilly lace which is a super light material and ended up not giving me the effect I wanted. I may remake them but as of right now, they're all right. :/
The skirt is comprised of 7 layers :o I believe in the musical she has about 9-10 layers. But I knew I was wearing a hoop skirt underneath it so I figured the hoop would supply the volume. There's 3 skirts of light bridal satin, A disfigured peplum of organza and 3-4 layers of tulle that has been bunched up at the waist. I sewed them all together and trimmed each of the satin skirts with silver lace. There's a few tears in the tulle but you can't really see them and I glued rhinestones on the top layer to catch the light.
The glass slippers and the crown were bought and altered. The slippers were cut to the accurate shape and rhinestones were added on them. The crown was bought from Ebay and was bedazzled completely to hide the designs. - Personal Thoughts:
- When I first saw the clips from the Broadway musical I was instantly hooked. The costumes are some of the most gorgeous I had ever seen, and when the transformation scene occurred. My mouth was agape! I fell in love with the musical all over again and figured it was about time I tried something a little different :) I've never seen anyone do a cosplay from a Broadway Musical from the cons I've been too. So I thought it would be pretty fun ^^
