About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Drafted the pattern for the pants myself and made them from a darker blue apparel vinyl.
The shirt and back wings(?) were made by the tedious process of cutting a strip of vinyl, adding interfacing, clipping it in place and at the right length so that the piece would be tight, and sewing it on. Tedious is an understatement; the process drove me insane, having to try on the garment every time without displacing the clips.
The rings on the shirt are o-rings, made from nitrile so that they "stick" to the vinyl on the inner waistband.
The cuffs were made from gold lycra and the tattoos were printed on inkjet tattoo paper. - Personal Thoughts:
- Diavolo was one of the more daring cosplays I decided to go with. Not only did it take some confidence that I had the body for it but also a lot of learning and experimenting with sewing and construction methods. In the end, I was satisfied with the results.

- Styling Notes
- Surprisingly simple to style. I trimmed down the bangs before pinning and hairspraying them around my forehead. After trimming them again and a few more coats of hairspray, I used a green sharpie to add spots all over the wig.
