About this Costume
Construction Details:
I took a lot of short-cuts because I had maybe 4 days total (takings out hours spent at my job(s) ) to make this costume for AFO.
The pants were manually plaided using 1/4" ribbons, and then constructed and the ruffles were added after the pants were made. The hat was made from a small hat I had from years ago with the top cut off, and then remade using craft foam (bc of time). I coloured a bow I already had for the gold bow.

I made the neck bow using a stretch white knit, and due to time constraints, made the gold details out of painted foam.

I used a turtle neck I already had for the shirt because I didn't have time to make his pleated shirt, and used red ribbon for the band on the bottom.

The monocle is a glasses piece from an older costume, attached to a foam cover. The detail on the cover was made with puffy paint and then painted over.

I used gloves I'd gotten for a different costume (but ended up being too bright), and just attached bows from old bowties I had to them.

I didn't have time to go out and get accurate shoes for him, so I ended up wearing a pair that was similar and still gave me a little bit of height.

The jacket was made from a butler costume pattern fused with a military jacket pattern fused with a poncho pattern. I used a sparkle liner for the lining since the offical art of him so far, the end of his jacket is bright like a reflected jem. I used two things of glitter on the tails, and hand jeweled them, each tail taking about 1-2 hours to do. The shoulder cape is a separate piece, attached with a simple whip stitch. It's made like a poncho, and just put over the shoulders (and sewn on). The standing collar has two layers of interfacing in it so it'd stay up. I had to quickly attach the lacing on the tails and ended up gluing the buttons on before I left the house in the morning.

The purse was a super (two hours before leaving) decision to have, so it's just fabric gathered up and attached to a clasp handle; to be later remade (mostly because it broke several times throughout the day)
