Construction Details:

Ugh... The fabric I chose was terrible heavyweight cotton, and I worked off a pattern for a little boys' racing suit. I had to sew most of it at a friend's house. I wasn't confident I could sew sleeves, so I chose Timeskip Viral first. The only thing that I really liked was the cape.

I worked really hard to be resourceful - the belts were covered in silver pleather cut out of a purse. I customized the boots with pleather and cut-up khaki shorts.

Personal Thoughts:

This costume sealed my fate as a cosplayer. My friends were no longer interested in Death Note, but I realized I still wanted to cosplay. And that I would have to start making costumes. It just so happened that Viral's inferiority complex and animal hands caught my eye.

This costume is hard to wear. You can't see, you can't touch, you can't even speak or breathe right. You have sports tape up your arms. The only saving grace is the open arms.
