About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The jacket was sort of a monster, and in retrospect, I think it would have been so much easier/less stressful had I just made it from a pattern.
I took a large grey trenchcoat, and had to not only take the lining out, but also severely take it in, alter the collar, and remove a lot of length and alter the bottom. Doing the front was a struggle, because it was really an unnatural cut/placement, but also because it went against everything that was left of the original coat.
His shoes gave an issue too, as to how to go about them without spending/wasting anymore time or money, since the coat really took a toll on both.
After several attempts using socks and tights with the toe and heel cut out, I finally was exposed to the god-send that are stirrups. - Personal Thoughts:
- I fell in love with Legend of Korra, having been a hardcore Last Airbender fan. Originally I was going to cosplay Korra, but after a moment of enlightenment with friends, specifically in a curry restaurant, we concluded that I should cosplay Mako, to their Korra and Bolin.
Wig Details
- Wig Brand
- Fantasy Sheep
- Wig Name
- Durarara Izaya Orihara
- Wig Quality Rating
- 5 / 5.00
- Styling Notes
- Since the wig had a fair amount of heat-damange, and poor cutting done to it, I opted to cut the whole thing down to a short-cut. Hair spray and wax were used to get his little 'hawk up
