About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The mask was a prop given out when Twisted Metal was being demo'd at a game show. Managed to get a hold of one and modify it by adding the leather straps and red hair on the sides. The work was meticulously done so it fit perfectly and comfortably. I ordered a set of the bondage straps found on the character's body, and used white scrub bottoms for the pants. Due to a time constraint I ended up spray painting pink spots on the pants using a stencil, it didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped so I intend to do it over by hand with black outlining and varying sizes of the spots. Had a pair of old, red Docs lying around to complete the outfit.
For a while I had done a lot of sketching and designing to create some kind of way to feed gas through lines popping out of a specially insulated bald cap that could be ignited to create the flaming head effect. After going at this for weeks I couldn't find a way to safely construct such a thing so a flame styled wig was used instead. i haven't given up on a real flaming head idea yet and when i do figure it out i will do my best to bring it into reality. This will probably only be for photos though as it would be just too dangerous to walk around a con like that. - Personal Thoughts:
- My personal favorite thus far. The pants and machette prop could've been done better but this was again for a Halloween party and i had a relatively short deadline and a busy schedule. I intend to scrap them and start over. The mask was done with meticulous care to be as close and as precice as possible since this character is in my top three favorites of all time. In the near future I'm hoping to add better and more props such as a better and more accurate machette, chainsaw and shotgun from PS All Stars, and plans are currently on the table to modify my 2005 Cadillac with prop armor plating, interior technology, and weaponry including dual hood mounted machine guns. An actual car as a prop could be a cosplaying first so I'm excited and determined to do it very well. Stay tuned for this one. :D
