Personal Thoughts:

Ok, so I'm not sure if I'm just biased toward anime, but this costume was amazing!! We had the entire cast with us which was a serious boost in coolness, and the location was perfect. This cosplay was especially fun for us because before my fiance (Anime_wench) and I were even dating she invited me over to watch Cowboy Bebop. Sadly I was busy that night and couldn't go! And here we are now, engaged, in love, and in-character!

As for the construction of the costume, we found a dark blue suit and yellow shirt at our local thrift store (I've found that they're the best place to find costume pieces) and added the blue highlights to the cuffs and lapel. Literally everything else we had on hand.

My hair was the most worrisome part of the costume, 'cause we didn't want to wreck it for a test run. In theory we knew how to do it, but we weren't sure if it would tun out right. My fiance ratted my hair while using hair glue, which turned my hair into cotton-candy, which we flattened out into the perfect Spike 'fro. Add in some colored hair spray and voila!
