About this Costume
- Personal Thoughts:
- OMG this costume came out soooo much better than we were expecting...
For materials we picked up some catsuits from ebay, along with Avery brand reflective tape. Everything else was picked up a thrift-stores and random locations. My helmet, which started as a hockey helmet minus the faceplate, needed a little spray paint and some reflective tape and it turned into a perfect Tron helmet! The boots were my soon-to-be father-in-law's old work boots that hadn't been used in over a year. Again, just a little spray paint and some tape and we were set. And last, the shoulder pads and bracers were actually kids knee and shin guards!
My fiance (Anime_wench) and I were planning on debuting this for the release of the new TRON legacy movie, but when we heard about Disney's elecTRONica meet up event and actually got 2 of the 3000 limited tickets, we just had to push up the deadline.
Just about all that we had actually completed was the helmet, which we had spent a few nights working on while watching TV. All of a sudden, we needed it all done in less than a week. CRAP! So we spent the rest of the week cutting out and hot gluing tiny lines onto a skin tight catsuit. We sort of lost track of how long it took to make exactly, but we figure somewhere between 20-30 hours per suit.
All in all though, they turn out to be one of the coolest costumes we've done!
