About this Costume

The coat, shirt, and pants are from an end of summer sale at a Macy's. Hat and Sunglasses were picked up at another shop on sale also. The scarf and cape were persnally tailored. The Mk I Ear Scarf has a single layered gold ribbon band, and the ends dyed pink. The Mk II Ear Scarf has a double layered gold ribbon band, button dots, and pink cloth tips. The hat was modified to sport a red band and a red feather glued on.
The walking stick was assembled from a wooden rod and copious amounts of white spray paint. The Soul Gem knob at the end of the staff was constructed from a curtain-rod end cap, and painted with finger nail polish. To make them interchangeable, the Soul Gems are attached with a set screw socket, thus allowing a quick change of Soul Gems to fit whatever character I stand with.
The clipboard is from Staples. Contracts were typed up by me, using the MadokaRunes.tff from the PuellaMagi wiki, and printing done by M&M Printing. Mk I Contracts are single sheets with about 12 footnotes to the contract. Mk II Contracts feature carbon copy receipts, and have about 15 footnotes of legalese bullcrap. - Personal Thoughts:
- My best cosplay thus far, and I am amazed at the sheer number of people who are more than willing to trade their souls for wishes. Two versions of Contracts and Ear Scarves were made, Mk I was used for ALA and PMX, while Mk II was for AX. Pictures only show Mk I currently.
I find Kyubey to be absolutely fascinating as an antagonist, in that he's not really "evil" or even "amoral". It's more that he's a massive troll, and isn't very "nice". Lacking concepts of Human emotions, and being a single mind able to occupy multiple bodies, his difficulty in understanding why humans get upset about the whole "Souls in Rocks" and "Turn into a Lovecraftian Nightmare" is a rather complex and deep look into the problem of trying to transcribe human concepts into something so alien.
