Construction Details:

Bodice: The fabric is a bathing suit lycra made from a pattern I designed using my measurements.

Skirt: The skirt is a basic circle skirt made twice my hip measurements and pleated down to fit. Fabric: Joanns White Casa Collection Satin.

Hand Dye: I used a polyester dye from Dharma Trading Company. I made up a purple, blue, green, and yellow in separate cups each with their own brush. I hand painted a section taking care to create a gradient and then I used a hairdryer to dry out the section I had just completed before moving on to the next section. When the whole thing was dyed I put it in the dryer before washing it, that helped the color to barely fade.

This was a first hand dye job and I think it turned out rather well!

Styling Notes

Wig was styled using home-made string falls for the pigtails.
