About this Costume
- Personal Thoughts:
- [old/retired costume brought over from cosplaylab/cosplay.com with copypaste info. May update later]
Inspiration: Well, I had planned to make both this one and the 'popstar-style' one, but ended up not finishing (read: working on) till the following year. Realized I had the right hair to do it again, and made it quite last minute...
Favorite Aspect: For a costume using so many layers of vinyl, it was surprisingly comfy. Not too warm, not too cold. Ju~st right. Also, even if not everyone got the chara right, it was fairly well-received.
Least Favorite Aspect: Since I didn't start working on it until the thursday before Neko, some parts of it came out...well, not as good as I would have liked. And since some of the fabrics were only what I had onhand (and couldn't get more of on a short timeframe), I had to work around mistakes rather than doing things over. Oh, also, the fact that only like 4 people knew who I was. The vast majority, of whom I have lost count, thought I was Tidus. The rest thought I was Sora. o_O ((The more I look at pictures, I see that the neck piece is overly high in all of them, I had thought at first it was riding up in this pic...but perhaps, it is hanging differently because of the shoulder straps and armor/epaulets, dunno. Also, the shoulder pieces are sagging a bit more than I would have liked))
Easiest Task: Well, I had the shorts already from the previous year, I just needed to make the straps (had even put the loops needed for them in place) since I hadn't bothered with them last time since I wouldn't have been able to dance with them. Although, they were a bit flashier than they shoulda been, since I had made them flashy for the popstar skit, but didn't feel like making the same pair of shorts all over again.
Hardest Task: Sewing together multiple layers of different fabrics, some of which were different types of vinyl and vinyl-like materials.
