Construction Details:

This costume was assembled in less than 24 hours for the New York Anime Festival Preparty, the Eureka Seven Premiere, and the New York Anime Festival. The idea originally came to me when I looked at Kittan's outfit and saw that by using manly combining of clothes I already wore I could be Kittan with just some hair, gloves, and scar. Cost of this entire costume as is: $15. Current wig: $9.99 from Kmart Gloves: $2.99 from Wal-Mart Scar: $1.00 Crayola Markers from Target set (using the brown marker) Now I know the wig is not perfect but as I have hair close enough in color to Kittan's I actually made this wig function to look like the split he has for his hair, which can be seen in the pictures. I want to do him again with a better wig and more Gurren Lagann cast members.

Personal Thoughts:

Kittan is a fun character to do, and very comfortable clothes wise. The outfit was thought up to be as a joke for the Eureka Seven Premiere as I could not get a Holland costume made in time. I had planned to do a lot of Kittan jokes about the premiere being his movie at the Union Square premiere. Kittan also helped the Pink Haired Superstar cause dancing during the Friday Night Cosplay Variety Show, that was fun. Only a few Yoko's to take pictures with a NYAF 2009.
