Construction Details:

My first ever cosplay costume. Im rather proud that I managed to make it myself (with a lot of advice and teachings from my friends). The clothing was all bought from thrift stores while the wings were of my own clumsy design. A steel bar that ran the length of the wing and stiff welding wire was used to form a frame that the cloth skins could be sewn around onto and to keep the shape. They were then attached with heavy brackets to a center board with straps to be worn like a backpack. This resulted in something like a 7ft wingspan, a clear oversight I discovered while trying to navigate crowds of Anime North 08. For Youmacon 08 I removed the brackets and just used screws and a "stub" to allow the wings to swing downwards to fold behind my back. The crowds were much appreciative.
