Personal Thoughts:

Demonstration of the two swords made for Dilandau. Damn I hate curved swords. Never again.
The above is the show sword, with more attention paid to detail.
It is one piece and used for most of the pictures.
The second sword is the "break-away" sword for the performance. It has weak points in 2 locations allowing it to break into three pieces, ala movie where Van shatters it.
Which is intentional and it reconnects back together to break again.
