New to site, new to cosplay!

Never cosplayed in my life, though a friend of mine asked if I'd be interested as going to the NDK as the Mello to her Matt. I figure why not. And thus my eyes were opened to the wonderful world of cosplay. And what a glorious day it was. Now just to tell my mom I plan to cross dress as a leather wearing mafia member and run around a convention with a bunch of other people dressed up...should be fun.

Anyways, so far not so good. Having trouble finding vest and pants. Luckily I can just cut my hair for that, and wear my Harley Davidson boots but no idea where to get a vest and pants that aren't a million dollars, as leather tends to be pricey. Anyone know where to look?

And I'm not a fan of buying on the internet.

I went as Misa to a con in June, and before the con, when I was still in the "buying the costume" process, I was frantic. By god, I thought I was screwed! Turns out, I had most of the stuff I needed. It was a neccesity to get little rosaries and other accessories so I went to a Halloween store, thrift shops, and Party City. It turns out they have a few good things essential for cosplay! I went as my precious blonde loli and had a blast! Don't worry so much; it turned out they had costumes for sale at the con! Silly, sillly me.
