First Time Cosplaying

This will be my first time I am cosplaying. I am lost because there are so many anime series out there and I can't decide on what to cosplay. I will be attending Anime USA and NekoCon X this year and luckily they are both in November. Please help!!!

Umm, I don't know what series you like, or if you'd rather cosplay a girl or guy, but here's some random thoughts off the top of my head...

Fuu (Samurai Champloo)
Kazuki (Get Backers)
Fuji (Prince of Tennis)
Yuya Shiina (Samurai Deeper Kyo)
Wolfram (Kyo Kara Maoh)

I'm sure you could pull off a great variety of characters ^^

Fuu from Samurai Champloo looks like a fun character to cosplay as well as Miaka from Fushigi Yugi. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

I think Fuu is the best one of the two thus far. Are there any more suggestions?

This one doesn't look too hard to cosplay. I can buy a blonde wig and I also need the ears as well.

Princess Zelda is also an elf character too.

I wouldn't mind cosplaying as Sailor Jupiter since one of my favorite animes is Sailor Moon.

It's kinda hard deciding between Fuu (Samurai Champloo), Miaka (Fushigi Yugi), Deedlit (Record of Lodoss War) and Sailor Jupiter (Sailor Moon).

Id say Jupiter wouldbe good. But hmm...would you still want to leave the convention as jupiter or have a back up like say Miaka. Since their outfits are similar but Miaka has a kimono like Fuu.

All Sailor Scout Uniforms require (or at least should require) spandex, or some other type of dance wear material. If you have enough motivation, and time to commit to heavy drinking before tackling the task, then go for it. But just be warned that the satin in the skirt slips and slides a lot while you're pinning it, and the stretch material for the bodice and gloves is notorious for jamming sewing machines.

Heh, I'm currently cosplaying Sailor Jupiter myself. ^^ The other thing I had trouble with was her boots. You'd think you'd find them on eBay somewhere, but... surprisingly, you won't.

Did I mention how cute your avie was? Bah! Off subject! XD

I plan on someone making it for me. I never made a costume before and I don't want to mess it up.

I am going to go as Kino Makoto in her Sailor Jupiter costume as well as her school uniform.

I'm like 5'3. I can't recall how tall Lita is. Is Jupiter a bad choice then?

Like my posts states i need help on a costume or ideas on which character i could do(from the Naruto, One Piece, or Bleach) that would help me for a costume party that im planning. So theres that and i hate to sound like a noob but how can i post a pic of face or body to get the help im lookin for. If it helps i have a myspace under the similar name of TwilightSoul, I woul really be aprreciative and hope o hear from some good ideas.

P.S. if it isn't clear i'm really new to this but cant wait to join the ranks of great anime look-a-likes, or RPG characters.

Well you had it backwards and such but hmmm...The second picture reminds me of that one guy. one Piece? Usopp? Not that you look like him you. I know theres other try my favorite character from Yu Yu Hakusho. Kuwabara?
