Help with FFX Rikku Hair

Does anyone know a good way to do one's hair like Rikku's from Final Fantasy X? I can do the braids correctly, but I'm having trouble getting the ponytail-ish thing right. ^^;

Like, with a wig or something? With real hair, it's just plain easy because it's a high ponytail. With a wig, you have to slowly work it up into that high ponytail but either putting it on an angle or putting it nearly upside down.

Real hair. I've tried just doing a high ponytail, but it doesn't look quite right, I end up having to put it in a normal-ish ponytail and then clip it to the back of my head to make it stick out like that. It might be my hair-length, I don't know. Is there a better way?

Hm, you have to tease your hair a bit for it to stick out like hers does. Most girls end up just doing that with clips in order to get that exact puff.
