I would love to go, I hear great things about it.
It's the lovely matter of getting good grades to get approval to go and finding a friend to drag along with me. Both not-so-fun tasks.

A question for people who have gone already, on the site the map of the hotels makes the hotels look really close to the convention center. Is it a reasonable walking distance from the little chunk of hotels, or is it better to find transport to the center?

I cant find the map on their site, but if I remember correctly, it is difficult to find parking closer than the hotels, and even Pike Street market is with in walking distace. Seattle is on a slope though, so if your not used to walking around a lot, it might get tiresome. This is only the second year at the convention center, it was really diffrent being in such a larger place! It use to be held out in SeaTac in two hotels. Its a pretty fun convention, its big enough to have lots of events but not so big that you can't see it all! ^__^ I have to say, if I had been offered such a tempting reward, I might have heaved a bit more effort into my grades back in high school! :P Plus, because Seattle is a waterfront area, they get in all kinds of fresh sea food. There a ton of sushi places, I went to one just off of pike street market (cant recall the name) they had melt-worthy grilled saba.

I've not even been to Seattle before. I'm really looking forward to it if we do get to go. I'm excited about my costume, which is a secret.

I love Seattle! :D OMG! And the fabric stores they have! I would kill for some of that here, theres a clearance ware house for one small chain *cant think of the name* and the prices are EXCELLENT! A lot of the stuff is the same things Joanns carries at full price are there for a fraction. The fabrics arent damaged or any thing, its just older stock from their stores, so buy what you need because it might be the last bolt! I got soem really nice cotton prints there, most where under $2 a yard, and some stores still had them in there general stock at full price (like $10-14)! Oddly, while I can't remember the name, I had just asked the concierge at the hotel we where staying if she could help us find some fabric stores, its kind of across down town from the convention center, and out a tad but it would be worth the small drive!

 I think I would consider moving to Seattle if living here in Portland wasnt so much cheaper!

Pacific Fabrics, their warehouse is just south of downtown, I'd go there after school to pick up some supplies for sewing. Good stuff :3 I'm going to hopefully be doing a cosplay panel for next year, I've got a good lineup of new costumes to make and I pre-reg'd the last day of the con this year so suuuuuper cheap. I'm really excited for next year.

Pfft! It is merely 5 months away. Those conventions that are setup for it, I tend to register a year or more in advance (though some of those are merely on the possibility of attending).
