Saber cosplay

Hey i'm new to this site...and cosplaying sort of. I'm trying to cosplay Saber from fate stay night and i was wondering if anyone had any tips on construction of the dress(i have never sewed before). I was also wondering if there was anyone familiar with making sword props and the like.

Oh about the Saber cosplay? I think its possible... Though I am pretty sure, the residents of ACP/ACE would certainly like to offer any help.

Yeah i actually got some great advice on the armor. someone gave me a tutorial on craft foam and a really nice picture of excalibur. I just hope I can do her justice she's such an amazing character. I probably should have tried an easier costume for my first time though...
