A new face in the crowd

Hello everybody 
My name is Chris and as probably most of the users posting in this area, I am new.
I am not really a cosplayer though. I'm rather a larper with cosplay side-effect, meaning that I started with costumes and sewing because of larp but quite often I also do other costumes I see in films or comics for myself, cause I just fall in love with them.
So you could say I am new to cosplay - have never been to a cosplay convention, and probably never will go there.
I appreciate all the work that is put in the cosplay costumes, the standard often is really outstanding and I am really amazed.
So far I've only done few costumes, including Dark Phoenix and Magneto from X 3 and the Bellatrix Lestrange Costume as seen in The prisoner of Azkaban.
I'm here hoping to get some tips and maybe some help with costumes and of course I hope to have a great time here.
