Look in the phonebook. There are African American Hair places that sell wigs cheap cheap. That's where I got my Yuffie one. Granted, I dunno where you live and if there would be a place like that around you. I was surprsied when I found mine.

Bought my wig for 25$... Had to style it myself, but saved a good twenty bucks.

i live in seattle, i've looked around my area, most places don't have anything good for the price...found something online...with shipping it's about $20, so i'm going to think about that.

Watch out for online though. Make sure it's reputable.

And when you look around the area, stay away from places like Wal*Mart and Party City. At least here in Floirda, they suck for quality wigs.

Finding good quality wigs that are not too expensive can be hard. The wigs kind of fall into 2 categories, ones for cosplay/costumes and those meant for every day wear.
The everyday wear ones are Very expensive and sometimes made with real hair.
Good costume wigs are full thickness (weft) and can be styled. Alot of really cheap wigs (commonly found when searching for costume wigs) are junk and not worth it for cosplay. They don't look good and won't hold up even for one convention.
I have had very good luck finding reasonably priced good quality wigs from both CosWorx http://www.cosworx.com/home.php?cat=1 and have bought several from Amphigory http://www.amphigory.com/

An expert on cosplay wigs is Katie Bair http://www.katiebair.com/
She does commissions and also has some really good info on wig styling worth reading. I do my own wig styling and learned most of it from Katie who has given panel discussions at my convention Sakura-con

Hope that helps, Ganbatte Kudasai!

The best wigs I've purchased for cosplay have come from hours of searching ebay and finding the really OLD good quality wigs that someone's grandma or a survivior is selling off.

My Yuki Souma, Suguru Fujisaki, Syaoran Li and a few others have been purchased this way or at a thrift store and I haven't paid more than $10 total for any of them. In a few cases I paid even less.

Sometimes, as with the Yuki wig, I have to boil the wig to straighten it and do my own styling. Sometimes I even have to get a light color and dye it myself to fit what I need, but I'd rather do that than pay $40.00 for a wig when it isn't necessary.

Example: Look for searches specifically in the USA.

Better yet, here.. I did the search with all the IN USA ONLY and under $15 purchase price. There are a few $5-6 wigs in here that are great.
