What I would just do is get like a wooden dowel thing (they come in diff. thickness and length) and like, somehow (not really sure) attach a tip to it. Um, not sure how to make, but if you want it too look better where you attach, my friend once used like sculpey or something to put around it, so it had the shape her glaive does... not too sure if I am any help :D usually I experiment over and over till I get a result I like when I make things.

~Use a dowel, get whatever size you think would fit. (Paint it only after you've made sure the 'sword' part fits.)
~Some sort of clay will be fine for the part at the end of the dowel before the 'sword'. Paint that afterward as well, though make sure you get a sold color such as white, or a light tan to match the wood to make the painting less obvious.
Now, for the 'sword' I have a few different ways to do this. You can:
~Use a jigsaw and cut the shape out of luon (nothing thicker or thinner). Then, A) buy silver clay and mold it over the wood, make sure to use hot glue after you bake the clay (being sure to take it carefully off the wood. A no brainer). B) use "fun foam". There are ways to make armor and such with this as well as weaponry, but I'm not sure the details. (check other weaponry threads and see if the link is there. A nice member was posting it.) C) stirofoam. Yes, it's an odd way about this but I have used it for weaponry for my friends before. If you can pull it off, it looks good. Stirofoam is easy to cut (if you have a knife. I have a crafting one for the task but a house hold knife that perhaps cuts poulrty works as well) and shape.

I do hope one of these tips will help you. Where I live you can buy all of this material (except the sheet wood) at Micheal's Arts and Crafts, and they're not all the expensive. For the best look, I suggest choice A because it has the most finished and professional look of them all. Do have fun, if you get messy with paint and glue, good. Just make sure to have a vaccum on hand, unless you're in a garage, then a broom is fine. *laughs*

moonprism.com has it, but unless you are rich, go for the homemade one ^_^;

I would also suggest dowel rod, or even better, pvc pipe. It's lightweight, inexpensive, and whatever place you buy it from can cut it for you. The reason I suggest pvc pipe is below:

For the blade of the glaive you can use whatever you like (I suggest medium-density fiberboard) Make sure that after you shape/cut it out, you leave a thin rod at the bottom end-This will go into the pvc pipe. Obviously, you'll want to measure to make sure it will fit. Sand if necessary.

I like pvc/mdfiberboard because once you've cut it and left that little 'tail' at the bottom, you can cover it with adhesive (craft epoxies work best) and re-insert it into the pvc. It adds a little more stability than gluing the blade to the top of the dowel rod.
(for a smooth finish, I'd suggest priming the fiberboard with a layer of acrylic or several coats of clear spray gloss. Pvc takes spray paint well and has a smooth finish after painting.

good luck on however you decide to make it!
