Ok... so. I am cosplaying as Access Time (Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne) today at CN Anime, though its 1:43 AM right now and the con dosent start till 9:00. Anyway, our biggest problem has been his hair. You see its a DEEP, DARK DARK purple, and our wig was white. So we tried to dye it the first time using a spray like substance and it came out fuscia!! So... we tried it again tonight (probably about midnight) and I just took it out of the dye and rinsed it and it is now a very light, misty purple colour. JOY!! STUPID COLOUR. The dye, dyed EVERYTHING else BUT the wig. Oh how I LOVE last minute convention cosplay alterations. Anyway, just thought I'd share my horrific wig story with you all so you know not to leave things to the last minute.

Woot go Rit dye and a synthetic wig!

I shall post pictures later so you can see my pain :P

Ugh, sorry to hear about your wig fiasco. :(

I could be mistaken, but I don't think white wigs are generally a good base for deep colors. There is probably some special technique.

Well, I hope you have a great time at the con anyway!! :D

White wigs are just fine for deep colors depending on what shade you start out in for the color.

But you should never use RIT dye for wigs anyway. RIT is used for dying cotton and fabrics mostly, not wigs. The color wipes off on your costume and soaks into your skin when you sweat. Bad idea!
