Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows some of the basics of wig styling and is willing to share some secrets? I am really bad at styling wigs and in turns out I need to for my costume.

I would really like someone to explain to me:

1. How to put extentions and add volume into a wig.

2. How to curl wigs.

3. How to style them (Put them in odangos, buns, etc.)

Please help me!

Thanks,

Ashley

There are some tips for beginning wig stylists on Katie Bair's website at http://www.katiebair.com That should cover most of your questions. For curling a wig, you can use the big velcro rollers and a steamer. That works pretty well for me. If you don't have a steamer, you can use a blowdryer on low temp.

1. Adding extensions is easy. Make it and then sew it into the wig mesh and adding volume is just adding in extensions.

2. http://www.amphigory.com/wig_how_to_curl.html Amphigory has a wonderful tutorial. You can also use a curling iron on a low temperature (no more than 3) and curl it.

3. How to put them in odangos and buns really isn't simple but look on cosplay.com and in their wig forums, they have a lot answered.
