How to put a motorized train in a skirt

I'm trying to figure out how to put a motorized train into a skirt. I built a platform on the bottom and attached a slot car track, but when I walk the skirt sways too much and the train derails. Any and all suggestions on how to get a motorized train to work or how to create a skirt that will spin welcome.
