Specific Wig Help

I am looking to modify a wig I already own, a bubblegum pink eve wig:




I am going to a convention in a group as Shuichi Shindo, from the anime version of Gravitation. I would prefer no to do too much cutting or permanent styling, as I intend to use this wig in the future. Is it possible to put regualr hair products into a wig? And also, would spray on washable haircolor come out when it's washed? I'm afraid I'm entirely new to the cosplay experience, but am a perfectionist and would like to get the wig as true to Shuichi as possible. Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Yes, regular hair spray and gel work fine in wigs. Cheapo Aquanet is great for most styles and will wash out for the next style. As for spray on haircolor, you might want to test a little of the hair like a bit of the underside that's not visible. Leave the color on a few hours then try washing it off. If it washes easily, then it's probably safe to do the whole wig.
