would it be a good idea to make the long transparent part of tidus's water sword from poster board

if not what could i use to make that part out of

any help would be appreciated

A mold and Hot-glue-gun

If anything, I'll sell you mine, it's all steel and I'll just throw on alot of plastic around it for $120.

$120 for a custom blade is actually pretty cheap. Heck, I've seen people drop $150 on mass-produced cheap blades at cons.

blah blah, my previous post was a useless one.

at the art supplies store, acrylic 12 x 18 inches and 3 cm thick costs around $4 and a few cents. it should be okay... but if you need a bigger area of acrylic, they have tons more.

then if you still are making the brotherhood sword, you can heat the acrylic at the sides so blisters'll pop up and voila, you'll have that bubble thing on tidus's sword.

err, if u use resin... i think you'll need a mould to pour the resin in first.

and for heating the acrylic, u'll need something that goes a lot hotter than a hair dryer. i used a strip heater. but you can use the conventional oven, not the microwave oven.
