Actually, if it's a synthetic wig, try using spay lacquer. You'll never be able to un-style the wig, but if you do it in fine coats, it will still look natural, and keep the weight down. Every time I've used hairspray, the weight the spray adds seems to negate the lifting properties, which is why I ...

I have a tiny car and I know how you feel. I've had to take the back seats down so that I'd have trunk space to work with as well. Hehe, I'm in the exact same boat with you -- I tend to try to keep props to a minimum because of that exact reason XP Collapseable props sound interesting, though! Than...

I've been doing cosplay for years now, and I think the best thing you can do if you want to get into this more on the side is set up a web site - people like seeing pictures of what you've done, even if they're not cosplay related (found that out to quite a surprise when half of my theatre stuff rec...

Ooh, well, I can't be much of a help about the second two posts, but for the first one, I've used this pattern before: http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M3789.htm?tab=costumes&page=5 ... and it was really easy (although, I did use it because it was the only one I had on hand at the time, there are p...

This one from Amphigory is a great wig for spiky looks I've used it a couple of times, now~
With a little futzing, it can be just about any wig style that involves spikes!

You may want to consider painting your own, if you find a pair in a different color you like! We use this at school all the time - it's called "Nu-Life dye", and it's in a spray container. It works on synthetic things like vinyl, but also on real leather. It's different than regular spray paint beca...

....oh..okaiz..^.^ I'm SO nervous on making these!! I'm afraid I'll mess up...... I wouldn't worry too much :D Just take your time, and plan out what you need to do. Kinda, mentally walk yourself through it step by step. And, if it helps at all, every time I mess up, I learn a lot from it, so makin...

I've actually used this wig for my fiance's Watanuki cosplay, and it's very, very similar (and pre-styled, with very little work it would work perfectly - you'd mainly have to do some fluffing and brushing )

Ooh! I don't know how much help it *actually* is, but I do know that you can get these wooden stars at Wal-Mart or JoAnn's or Michaels (or somewhere similar) that fit perfectly inside a styrafoam ring (that newer styrafoam stuff, I believe it's called "Dy-lite" or something similar - it's nicer to p...

Ooh! There are a ton of patterns for skirts like this! What you're looking for (on the line art on the back) is one that has "gores", or little triangle panels that go between the regular dress pieces. The cool thing is, if you have to modify it to make the skirt even fuller, it's really easy to say...

I definitely think that this is something you could do that with! Just, instead of pleating the center like I do in the tutorial, you may want to pinch it so it looks a bit more like theirs, and then simply add the bottom parts, too :D It shouldn't be too different! Let me know how it goes - I love ...

TUTORIAL: Pre Tied Bow
At the advice of Ms. Tomoe from CosplayLab, I'll post a link to my pre tied obi bow tutorial up here, too. I'll probably post the other tutorials I've made, too, when I have more than a minute :D This was done for a Kotoko bow, but adapts well to any type of pre tied bow you may need to have - I've ...

Commissions?
Wow! This was due for an update, I think ^^; I've been doing cosplay commissions since 2001, and working with commissioners since early 2003. We've filled nearly 500 orders (we're at 484 as I type this now) in that time, mostly for costumes and props. We've made somewhere in the vicinity of 250 diff...
