About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Coral matte satin was used for the hat and jumper. The inner shirt dress is white poplin and black satin. I modified the sleeve pattern myself to make poofy bishop sleeves. All the scallop designs on the hat and the jumper were cut using the Cricut Maker machine on a fabric cutting mat and fabric rotary blade. All cut designs were made by my husband by scanning a template I made by paper cut-outs and then using Photoshop to make vector lines. Boot toppers are made with suede fabric and sewn on top of slouchy boots. The cape is made of the same black satin as the inner shirt dress and lined with the nicest, softest premium silky cotton in the perfect shade of muted gray light-yellow mint, if such a color exists! My favorite part was the hat in that I made the gems light-up! The gem on the cape also lights-up with a similar twinkle pattern as the hat using a LilyPad Arduino controller.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I love being an alchemist!
