Seemed simple enough at first glance, but hoo boy did I make some bad fabric choices. I used stretch velvet for the top and the lining on the belt and a 4 way stretch vinyl for all of the gold. The only problem with the vinyl was that it was a cheap jersey knit despite it being $14.99 a yard at MJTrends and it curled if I so much as looked at it. So everything was made that much more complicated by having to keep in mind how temperamental the fabric was being. I interfaced it in some places in the hope that it would calm the curling but most of the time it just made it worse, as I would lose whatever stretch the fabric had. ANYWAY F- do not buy. The only upside is that it looks alright in pics. The tiara, belt center piece and neckbrace are made out of Worbla, which was interesting to work with. I'd never worked with it before but it was relatively easy to deal with. The bodysuit I made out of dance mesh but I accidentally cut the stretch the wrong way, so it gaps here and there and a seam busted on the side when I wore it. Oops. The cape I originally made out of stretch velvet but the lining didn't have enough stretch so I had to toss it. The one I currently have is stretch sateen, which was a lot more forgiving. I made shoe covers but since they were made out of that horrible vinyl they have issues. This costume was a giant pain and I'm not happy with it. Lol.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I really like how some aspects of this turned out but NEVER AGAIN ON THAT GOLD VINYL
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- Trimmed the bangs and clipped two curly clips of the same brand that I had straightened onto the sides.
- Wig Review
- Delilahs are horrible.
