Construction Details:

The bodice was hand-painted with Jacquard paint in two colors (freehanded while meticulously eyeballing the bodice blown up in Photoshop). The whole dress was made of a heavy light blue satin. The bodice pattern was based off a princess seam dress pattern but altered to not have seams, though I had to add darts to accommodate the fact that I am bustier than Natalie Dormer. The skirt is a circle skirt and the whole thing closes with about a dozen snaps. The waistpiece is just a stem and flower from a fake fabric rose painted gold and glued together. They attach to the dress with ribbons.

Personal Thoughts:

I swore I'd never do intense hand-painting on costumes ever again after Keiji, but I was wrong, and it was worth it! I felt like an absolute princess in this, and everyone at the con treated me like one, it was grand! Almost as great as being Arya.
