About this Costume
Construction Details:
First we designed the outfit together. We based it off of the mega evolution because the colors and way cooler and... I don't think we wanted to get a wig.

Shirt/dress: The fabric we settled for was a stretch and typical satin (but the underside of it was used instead haha). The shirt dress was drafted with a crop top front and the back is sorta one long piece (sorta resembles a tailcoat). The tail is lined with light blue fabric to mimic the tail. There is a yarn tail sewn at the tip to mimic fire. I painted and colored it blue (as it was originally white yarn). The front piece is a separate piece that was hand sewn to parts of the front so that the front "horns" can stay up. It's up using an index card actually haha! The back side of that is lined as well.

Shorts: Shorts. Made with the same material as the shirt.

Horns: The horns were made from aluminum foil, tape, and spackling. The flames are craft foam and everything is glued onto a back headband.

Wings: My sister's favorite part of the costume. We used a slightly sheer and flow-y fabric. I cut out the shape of the wings and went through all the sides with some seam stuff so it wont fray. There is then bias tape on the top section. I used the black material again to make armbands and bracelet things. I hand sewed those onto the bias tape. It's very light and I'm pretty proud of it!
Personal Thoughts:
I made this as a weird "birthday" type present thing for my sister. She's got this weird crush on charizard haha! I still wonder why.
