About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
made my own patterns for all the hand made pieces of this costume. the suit and mask are made with two way white stretch pleather and 4 way stretch matter black vinyl. to make the pattern i took my standard body suit pattern and re worked the seams. it took a lot of copying and cutting out but i was really happy with the placement of the zig zags. i didnt feel the need to make a mock up. i used a zig zag stitch to really get the sharp points at the corners. the jacket is made of duct cloth and vinyl. i wish i had time to line it but i'm still pretty happy with how it turned out. i made the pattern by cutting up an unused jacket i owned. the shoes were bought on ebay and were absolutely perfect. all i had to do was add a couple straps to the top. i made the knee pads out of worbla and craft foam and literally just glued them to the suit. the dark grey straps are made from some stretchy fabric i had just laying around, just a tube turned inside out and the ends sewn together. the mask was the hardest part to make and just took a lot of trial and error. for that i did make a mock up and slowly adjusted my pattern until i had the fit and shape i wanted.
- Personal Thoughts:
- been wanting to do this costume 5ever and finally got around to making it. i'm actually really happy with how this turned out even though the shoes killed my feet.
