Construction Details:

Dress is made from heavy stretch rayon crepe-back satin, with silk for the halter portion. The halter is double layered - a nude color silk double georgette with burgundy chiffon on top. It gives the illusion of it being sheer without the possibility of a "wardrobe malfunction", since it is cut reaaaally low! I sewed 3" horsehair braid into the hem for maximum volume. The halter and bottom of the dress has a very generous sprinkling of Swarovski crystal rhinestones in two sizes. Unfortunately they don't really show up in photos (they are the same shade of red as the fabric), but there's SO MANY OF THEM.

The mask was purchased. The one Sheryl wears in the Nyan Clip music video was obviously based off of these laser-cut venetian masks - the details are the same, but it was highly simplified for the animation and the colors were changed. I personally like the gold + white color of mine better than the rainbow quality it has in the video. SPARKLY!

Personal Thoughts:

Loved this dress from the moment I saw it. When I found the perfect fabric at work, I knew it was meant to be. Also LOL I think a lot of people do not recognize this costume, especially because it's one of Sheryl's more obscure outfits. I've had many people tell me they like the dress and ask where I bought it, only to find out it's an actual cosplay I made myself!
