About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
♥~Head Wings~♥ (re-used)
I used my standard Morrigan head-wings.
♥~Armlets~♥ (re-used)
I used my original Morrigan armlets.
♥~Leotard~♥ (NEW)
I used my Sailor Moon pattern as a base and altered it for the type of top that Morrigan had in the artwork as well as changing up the bottoms to the style of bottoms that Morrigan has on her normal gear. I constructed the base in under 2 days but I didn't finish adding all the little details in time for Halloween. The outer layer is made from a high quality black stretch velvet and the inner layers/lining is made from a high quality black spandex.
♥~Tights~♥ (re-used)
I used the tights from my MvC3 Morrigan variant.
♥~Boots~♥ (re-used)
I didn't have time to make the boots like in the picture so I wore my regular Morrigan boots. - Personal Thoughts:
- When I first saw the MOErrigan and LOLIth artwork by Derlaine8 in the Darkstalker's Tribute art-book I thought it was adorable and only slightly entertained thoughts of making it since it is technically a fan-art, but when I was stumped as to what to make/wear for Halloween 2011, I remembered the picture and decided to go for it even though I only had 2 days to really make it. I was able to re-use my already made armlets & tights since I had ones that matched pretty well already which helped to facilitated getting it completed enough to wear in time. Hopefully I'll be able to more fully complete it for future wear.
The other good part about this cosplay is that I used it to test out a lot of concepts and ideas I had for some of my upcoming cosplays. :D
I only have cell phone pictures right now since they were taken on the fly while we were out on Halloween Night 2011...please forgive the poor quality...^^;
