Construction Details:

I wanted to do a simple costume for my first cosplay so I figured Rika would be the perfect choice. She has jeans, a t-shirt and a few minor accessories. I already owned the digivice and the blue card from when I watched the series on television so I just needed to make the rest. The jeans were a cinch,the t-shirt I had to make Buttericks 3030 shirt pattern for the type of sleeves her shirt has and had to add another piece for the yellow collar. I bought some fake leather from Jo Anns and made the belt, card case, and leg straps and ended up having to spray paint the buckle for the belt the right color silver. (Dummy me didn't look far enough in the aisle at jo anns to notice the right color silver until a few days later XD)

The shoes were another challenge I forgot about until the night before. I ended up using red cotton and silver pleather which I regret now. I looked at a few images and started drawing out pieces to glue over some old sneakers of mine. The final look wasn't bad but the magnets I spray painted and put on her shoes all fell off by the time I got the convention. I'm redoing the shoes now for the next time I use it and am now using a grey cotton in the pleathers place.

Styling Notes

I had to trim the bangs a little since they were a little too long. I also had to cut a few inches from the wig so that it was the right length. I couldn't do the high ponytail like Rika has so I figured a spiral would work in the back.
