Construction Details:

The top was construction by using a Kagome outfit sailor top that I had bought in 2006 before I started really cosplaying. The closet hadn't been good to the top so we seam-ripped it all to its basic pieces and used it as a pattern. I used ribbon on the collar and cuffs.
I had never made a pleated skirt before. I learned how to box pleat, but couldn't get the waist to taper from waist to hip. It looks okay in photos but at the top it's connected by snaps that shouldn't be there. I want to remake it as a knife pleated skirt since I have learned that box pleats are hard to taper and don't work as well for long skirts, but it was a learning experience.
The socks are from We Love Colors.

Personal Thoughts:

Yu Yu Hakusho is the anime that really got me into anime. I love the series and Botan is such an adorable character.
I was originally making her kimono version but had difficulty with it so changed to the school uniform. But the skirt was just as difficult.

Styling Notes

The wig is Arda's Jeannie in 72A. My sister trimmed the bangs and tightened the ponytail as I had it on. She cut the ponytail extension in half since it was too long for Botan. She made wefts out of that hair to had more volume to the front side long dangling pieces and added a fringe of hair all away around the edge to cover my real hair at my neck base better.
