About this Costume
Construction Details:
This is my first costume I sewed myself, with help from my mom. It was a blast to wear, even though few people recognized me. I think they were more surprised about the red eyes.

Yukata: The pattern was by Simplicity, and was not easy to follow. If not for my mom, I would have not understood what the heck was going on. It is completely lined. The dickey/undershirt has a red collar but was one of the hardest pieces to do. The yukata was fairly easy, but the sleeves made no sense for a good part of the sewing.

Obi: The obi is boned with interfacing. It has snaps in the back to hold it together.

Bow: The bow is not the one from the pattern, but mimicked from the one in the show. It's just a simple bow. It's pinned to the obi.

Hiruiseki Stone: The stone is actually a marble from the Ramune drink. I found some cording, bead caps and clasps to make this.

Bird: It was found at Bronner's in Frankenmuth, MI.

Wig and Contacts: Both were bought online. Contacts are prescription and very comfortable. Wig was styled by me.

Hairpiece: It was made from left over red fabric with interfacing.
