Construction Details:

This jacket was hell to make as I was still learning how to construct garments at the time and sat collecting dust for the better part of a year before I decided to tackle it again. It's made out of stiffer fabric (I don't remember what...) with a zipper center front and velcro closures for the overlap. Patches are made by ironing on iron-on transfers to fabric. That and other details were glued on with fabric glue. The belt is made of out a soft pleather, hand-sewn together and velcro closes in the back. I'd like to give a big thanks to Jetspectacular for her pattern! It helped immensely! I was being a stickler for accuracy, so I also modified a grey t-shirt for her undershirt that no one ever sees. XD; The skirt was made with a light-weight cotton and is lined. I had the help of my mom because box pleats were still elusive to me.

Personal Thoughts:

Long story short, I was trying to get my friend to try out cosplaying since he expressed interest but was too shy or embarrassed to go through with it. He finally caved in, saying that he would do it only if -I- cosplay with him. He chose Kira from Gundam SEED and I had never watched it before, so I just chose any character I thought was cool looking, lol.
